1) My argument
I want to argue that creativity can't be taught intentionally. We often emphasize that we need to be more creative and innovative to live better. As for students, sometimes, they are forced to think more creative or, without existing ideas and some of them are tormented by that pressure. Inspired by this situation, I want to argue whether creativity is an ability that can be taught.
2) How I found my argument.
I usually have complaints with teachers forcing students to think in creative ways. What is creative to some can't creative to others. I think it's a matter of different perspective. Then, I started wondering where our creativity comes from. Is it innated?, or nurtured? This can be helpful for me to explain issue on the creativity from "innate"
side of view. As I continuing researching, I could find many diverse opinions about 'creativity' and I finally decided to argue that creativity can not be taught with those opinions and my experiences.
3) New research questions
I have some questions that need to be challenged.
a) What is engaged in creative thinking?
b) How can I explain creativity of "creative" people like famous artists
I need to browse more information about process of creative thinking and look for more persuasive supports like an experiment.
4) Connections to the Harvard Sampler
This argument is quite related to the Harvard Sampler. In the text, the author noted which one is nature and which one is nurtured and I wondered what area is proper for 'creativity'.
